ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO DON ALFONSO DE CARO FISCIANO-LANCUSI

Our school consists of an Infant, Primary and Secondary school. We have got about 700 students
from 3 to 14 years old.
It has two buildings and actively collaborates on the territory, with participation in activities
promoted by the Municipality, the Bank, the Parish, the Associations present and the University of
Salerno. It collaborates with the police to disseminate principles of active citizenship among the
school population. It promotes interesting activities and participates as a partner in numerous
projects at local, national and European level. The school, despite the lack of some spaces, is well
maintained and it is evident the goodwill and the ability to organize places to live outside teaching
from the classroom, with particular reference to the laboratories.
The school, thanks to the sharing of community programs, can count on discrete technological
equipment: website, digital boards, multimedia laboratories, scientific laboratory. Every member
of the staff uses it systematically and competently. The use of laboratory spaces from part of the
students is constant, they are used both in the curriculum and in the extra, even in the primary
and secondary school. Aspects related to environmental sustainability/energy are taken into
account, with the preparation of requests to the local authority and specific plans (specific project
of the Minister of Education). A relavant attention is about language skills, with particular
reference to Italian as well as to English and other languages of the European Union, also through
the use of the Content methodology language integrated learning development of skills in the field
of active and democratic citizenship, through the enhancement of intercultural education and
peace, respect of differences and dialogue between cultures, support for the recruitment of
responsibility as well as solidarity and care for common goods and awareness of rights and duties;
knowledge enhancement in legal and economic-financial matters and education to self-
employment. In recent years, the students have participated in various recycling and reuse
laboratories of materials, they have learned to recognize and understand the centrality of
recycling for the well-being and future of the new generations and to gain awareness of the
degradation of areas and places in the territory and implementation of interventions aimed at
environmentally friendly recovery.
